IT Department Raids 80 Locations Associated With Balgopal Oil Mill In Odisha’s Bargarh

Bargarh: Separate teams of Income Tax (IT) officials conducted simultaneous raids today on 80 different locations linked to Balgopal Oil Mill at Sayan under Sadar police limits of Bargarh district. The searches were carried out as the company has allegedly evaded income tax.

The Department officials had camped in Bargarh town since yesterday night. They raided locations including the mill, its office, and the residence of its Chartered Accountant Omm Pansari. Some millers, builders, businessmen and contractors are also involved in the tax evasion.

In addition, the sleuths carried out raids on SS Infra Solution located in Gajanan Complex at Kali Temple Road of Bargarh and the residence of its owner Anil Agrawal, a senior Income Tax official said.

“The teams raided early in the morning. As this is a major drive, it is likely to continue. The exact volume of income tax evaded can be ascertained only after the raids are over,” the official added.
