Labor unions call for India shutdown, Support of District Congress

Berhampur, 16/2 (Abhijit Kar): In support of the recent rural bandh and strike by the United Kisan Morcha, Central Labor Unions and Independent Federation, a huge pea cycle procession was organized in Berhampur today by the Central Labor Unions. The motorcycle procession started from Hilpatna Sahid Laxman Naik Community Hall and went around many important areas of the city like Railway Station, Old Bus Stand, Bad Bazar, Fastgate, New Bus Stand, Engineering School, Kompaly and Tata Benz Street. In this context, the leaders of the association expressed their opinion that they have received huge support in Brahmapur by supporting the all-India strike to demand subsidized prices for farmers’ crops, control of price hikes, repeal of the Labor Code, stop sale of government property and employment. Yudhisthir Behera of CITU, Pratap Choudhury, Shiv Prasad Mahapatra, Pitabash Panda from INTUC, Chinmay Kumar Hota, Suprabha Kumari Das, Ranjan Tarai, Arun Rao, Prakash Patra from AITUC, Pradeep Sethi, Kamdev Pradhan, Aditya Rath of AAP, Subas Raut were present in the procession. Pratap Chandra Pradhan of IFTU, Prashant Paricha, Papun Sahu of AIUTUC, Nimai Charan Sahu, Satya Narayan Tripathi of HMS, OSRU, ABS Patra, Rama Rao, Simmanchal Sahu took the lead.

In the same way, on the instructions of Odisha Pradesh Congress President Sharat Patnaik, while supporting the farmers’ movement and supporting the Congress National Farmers Union’s India shutdown call, Ganjam District Congress Committee (East) President Deepak Patnaik in Berhampur, led by many Congress leaders and workers of Berhampur city, protested in different Places of the city performed. It included other workers including Sambhu Panigarahi, Tatsat Subudhi, Bikas Nayak, Sai Prasad Padhi, Sandeep Jena, Mrutyunanjaya Pradhan, Sai Prasad Patra, Padma Charan Sahu, Atulya Padhi, Shibani Rana, Ranjita Pradhan and Gitanjali Sahu.
