Sports competition among girls for “Kuanra Punei Jahan Lo” program
Berhampur, 15/10 (Abhijit Kar): Endangered rural women’s sports competition was held on Sunday for the 14th edition of “Kuanra punei janha Lo” at the local Khallikot University Stadium. Culture loving guests, many media personalities and experienced referees participated in the program as the inaugural function of Prof. Prafulla Mohanty, Vice – Chancellor of Khallikot University, Berhampur Mayor Sanghamitra Dalai as the Chief Guest, internationally renowned sports person S.Rajesh Babu Achary are attended and encouraged the contestants. More than three hundred girls from Berhampur and surrounding areas participated in seven rural women’s sports under the coordination of Sudipta Panigarahi, the chief coordinator of Kuanra punei janha Lo program and eminent psychologist Sudipta Panigarahi, and to the tune of Kuanra punei janha Lo music.
Madhumaya Panigrahi Foundation’s chief guest and internationally renowned stage presenter Hrishikesh Panigrahi presided over the event, while Tripati Balaji Patra, Dr. Mihir Kumar Tripathi, D. Someya, Sunil Patnaik, Bhavani Shankar Mahapatra, Dr. Viswanath Panigrahi, Bhagwan Maharana, Nalinikant Gauda, Sonali Panda, Dr. Prabir Das, Rabindra Gauda, Krupasindhu Sahu, Sahinta Panigrahi, Basant Sahu, Jeetun Sahu, Sushant Sahu Major conducted the program. Similarly, Chandan was in music, state and national level sports persons and referees in sports, Binayak Hota, Sukanti Patra, Sharat Mahapatra, Manorama Mahapatra, Braj Das, Mahendra Patra, Rabindra Maharana, conducted.
Health care was provided to the contestants by the possible health clinic. Sugyani, Aditya, Gayatri, Priyanka, Mamta, Aparn, Anwesa, Santoshini, Supreeta, Rosalini, Lucky, Barsha, Rashmi, Asmita, Sonali, Manguli, T. Lakshmi, Archita, Chinmayi, Kasturi, Arpita achieved major achievements in various sports held. These Winter’s will be given special dance training from Monday, said Dr. Tripathi, cultural director of the committee. After the training, they are scheduled to perform dance in front of many national and international personalities on the 28th of this month in the auditorium of the ITI campus in the Kuanra punei janha Lo festival, said Mr. Panigarahi, the chief host.
