Protesting against Khiali’s attitude towards promotion, the District Education Officer’s office is besieged

Berhampur, 3/10 (Abhijit Kar): In protest against the fraudulent promotion of primary teachers in Ganjam district, the affected teacher trainees today gathered in hundreds and surrounded the office of District Education Officer, Ganjam through the Ganjam District Promotion Aspirant Primary Teachers Forum, Ganjam. In view of the conflicting information in the existing Cadre Rules for Primary Teachers, during the promotion of Primary Teachers to L-3 and L-4 (CATEGORY-2) teachers who obtained their graduation degree after 11/02/11. 10686 of DEE(O)’s order- 06/05/23 was taken as criteria to take OTET exam. After the teachers expressed their displeasure and approached the Hon’ble High Court, the Director of Primary Education issued a clarification on the order of the High Court on 14/09/23 to adopt a uniform policy across the state. However, the clarification letter has also been interpreted differently in different districts, the forum has complained that Ganjam District Education Office is drafting drafts to deprive qualified teachers of promotion due to misconceptions.

The Ganjam District Education Officer has issued a letter on 29/09/23 to take the reversible option to the teachers who have graduated during the tenure of the job, even if they did not change the category or shift. But in about 8 districts the teachers who were appointed before 11/02/11 have been exempted from giving OTET till 08/03/19 implementation date of 2019 amended Cadre Rule. Because in employment before 22/10/2018 BA /B.Sc. The teachers who did not have official permission to take the OTET-2 exam. DEE (O) recently published clarification letter also does not mention reversible option in L-4 to L-3 promotion level, except in Ganjam district. Due to such misleading interpretation of the official letter, Ganjam is afraid of depriving hundreds of qualified teachers from promotion in the district. In today’s Gherau program, under the leadership of host Rajesh Kumar Tarini, hundreds of impressed teachers and students including Hemant Sethi, G.Tripathi, Surendra Sethi, Manchar advisor Rajendra Kumar Panda, Prafulla Chandra Das, Panchanan Tripathi, K. Krishna Murtti were involved.
