“Little Hearts CME” Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Seminar at B’pur

• Aster Ramesh Hospital has teamed up with BSKY to provide complete services

Berhampur, 20/3 (Abhijit Kar): a remarkable Continuing Medical Education (CME) event titled “Little Hearts CME” was held in Berhampur. This event, organized in collaboration with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics Ganjam District and MKCG College and Hospital, Berhampur, aimed to share expertise and enhance knowledge in the field of pediatrics cardiology and cardiac surgery. The Chief Guest, Prof. Dr Narendra Kumar Behera, Head of the Department of Pediatrics of MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur, graced the event with his presence. The CME featured insightful discussions on unique concepts of Pediatric Cardiology, focusing on the past, present, and future aspects of the field, presented by Dr. V. Vasudev. Additionally, Dr. Bharat Siddarth conducted a session on “Healing Little Hearts: Case-based Learning in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery,” where real cases were discussed to enhance understanding and expertise. Both doctors are renowned specialists in Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery hailing from Aster Ramesh Hospitals, Vijayawada. The event also included a session titled “Healing Little Hearts: Our Experience and Learning in Pediatric Cardiology from Real Cases,” which provided valuable insights into the practical aspects of managing pediatric cardiac cases.

This CME witnessed an impressive turnout, with over 40 doctors from Berhampur and surrounding areas attending the event. The enthusiastic participation and exchange of knowledge at the CME are expected to have a positive impact on the quality of care provided to pediatric cardiac patients in the region. Later in the press conference held after the “Little Hearts CME,” Dr Vasudev and Dr. Bharat Siddarth expressed their commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to the people of Odisha and emphasised the importance of timely access to specialized healthcare services, especially in the field of pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery. They announced the commencement of their Outpatient Department (OPD) services in Berhampur, starting from January 2024. Since then on every 2nd Tuesday of every month, they are conducting free pediatric cardiac screening camps at MKCG College and Hospital. 

This initiative aims to bring specialized healthcare closer to the people of Odisha, particularly benefiting those in need of pediatric cardiac care. Further, they announced that Aster Ramesh Hospitals has empanelled with the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), the flagship health insurance scheme of the Government of Odisha. This partnership ensures that the people of Odisha can avail free pediatric cardiac intervention and surgical treatment to the beneficiaries under the BSKY scheme at their hospital located in Vijayawada. The availability of these services under the BSKY scheme is expected to alleviate the financial burden on patients and their families, ensuring that they receive the best possible care without any financial constraints.
