Review meeting of the Southern District Council regarding preparations for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections

• According to census in 2024 there are 28,46,016 voters

• 3077 polling stations and 10 additional polling stations will be constructed

• 8 election officers will work for the entire election management

Berhampur, 6/4 (Abhijit Kar): A review meeting regarding the election preparations of Ganjam district was held on Saturday in the conference room of the Southern Revenue Commissioner. In this review meeting held under the chairmanship of Mr. Ranjan Kumar Das, Ganjam District Magistrate Divya Jyoti Parida, Ganjam Police Superintendent Jagmohan Meena, District Development and Executive Officer, District Council Madhumita, Berhampur Sub-District Magistrate Dhina Dastagir were present, while all 13 constituencies of Ganjam district including election officials were present. In the presence of the district level officials, Mr. Das informed that the elections to be held this year will be held in an arbitrary manner and advised the voters to take care to cast their precious votes without hesitation in peace and order.

However, according to the 2021 census, Ganjam district has a population of 35,29,031, while according to the 2024 census, it has a population of 9,48,360. According to the list of voters published in January this year, there are a total of 28,46,016 voters, of which the number of male voters is 15,20,129, the number of female voters is 14,25,644 and there are 273 third gender voters. 415 in urban areas and 2,662 in rural areas, a total of 3,077 polling stations have been set up with an additional 10 polling stations. Around 943 voters have been arranged to cast their votes in one polling station. It has been estimated to have 722 sensitive polling stations, the human resource required for the conduct of the election has been completed.

8 Election Officers, 26 Assistant Election Officers, 13 EROs, 75 AEROs, 16 District Nodal Officers, 379 Sector Officers, 145 Micro Observers, 3692 Presiding Officers, 18460 Polling Officers and 3077 Booth Level Officers for conducting both Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. It seems that the officials are fully prepared for the conduct of the elections. A total of 398 women and 26 youth voting centers will be set up in the district. 13 disabled booths, 39 male management booths, 13 eco-friendly booths, 126 other model booths and 615 state-of-the-art booths have been arranged. 3077 sensitive booths have been made and they have been asked to emphasize that the election will be conducted in a manner that preserves peace and order.
