Peaceful and silent protest by tying black armbands demanding justice for Mamita Meher

Berhampur, 8/10 (Abhijit Kar): Mamita Meher a teacher of Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling, Kalahandi District, was strangled to death, cut into pieces, a hole was dug and a tire was burnt on October 8, 2021. Despite the direct involvement of former minister and Junagadh MLA Divya Shankar Mishra of the Biju Janata Dal government in the state, no action could be taken. So today is the 2 years complete of the much talked about murder of Mamita Meher, which created a stir in the state. Till date, the ruling Biju Janata Dal government and the police administration have failed to bring justice to Mamita Meher. Therefore, on behalf of Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha Ganjam District, under the leadership of District President Ratnagarbha Saraswati Devi, in front of Santoshi Ma Temple at Berhampur Bijipur Street, “for justice to Mamita Meher”, women tied black ribbons and made a peaceful and silent protest and lit lamps and prayed for the repose of her immortal soul. Many women and Senior party leaders of the party including Kanhu Charan Pati, Barsa Vidyusmita Pal, corporator Ranjita Behera were present and supported the event.
