Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary is celebrated

Berhampur, 25/12 (Abhijit Kar): The 100th birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, has been celebrated on behalf of Bharatiya Janata Party old Berhampur mandal in the local Prahallad Nagar under the supervision of mandal president K.Tunguru Patra. The Bharatiya Janata Party state working member Kanhu Charan Pati joined as the chief guest and recited the autobiography of Bharatratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. As the people of Odisha still remember Vajpayee’s contribution during the devastating flood in Odisha during his reign, six EMSs were established in the country during his time, Odisha’s Bhubaneswar being one of them. In order to honor Vajpayee’s contribution to the country, the central government decided to celebrate his 90th birthday on December 25, 2014 as Good Governance Day. Since then, December 25th is being celebrated as Good Governance Day in the country. Vajpayee was honored with Bharat Ratna in 2015. Shri Pati and other leaders highlighted Vajpayee’s biography on his 100th birth anniversary saying that India will always remember Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a visionary personality. While many party activists of the party were involved, many residents of the region were present.
