A three-day strike of bank employees begins in front of the Central Cooperative bank

• Indefinite strike warning from November 14 if 5 demands are not met

Berhampur, 25/10 (Abhijit Kar): A protest has been demonstrated in front of the local Central Co-operative Bank by the employees of the Co-operative Bank. Among the five-point demands are payment of arrears in seventh rate of pay from 2016, creation of Pensock Corporations Fund, two-tier banking system, revision of Cadre Fund financial assistance and Pex account. While Central Co-operatives have been running at a loss for many years, all the Central Co-operatives have been making profits since 2004 due to the efforts of the working staff in the 17 Central Co-operatives operating in the state. Apart from providing benefits to the government, crores of rupees are being paid to the government as taxes, so all the public welfare schemes of the government are implemented by cooperatives. Banks pay all their expenses from their own income while not incurring any expenses from the government. But it is sad that the power to increase the salary of the employees along with the social system is vested in the management church, but it has been excluded without the permission of the government.

He complained that it is a strange system. Central cooperative employees have been paid 7th salary from 2019 instead of 2016. Similarly, those who have worked in the bank since 2019 will not get pension under the EPFO scheme after retirement. Therefore, the Union is demanding to create a pension fund for them. The government is knowingly silent in this matter. Merger of Central Co-operative Bank and State Co-operative Bank is another demand but no steps have been taken so far. Under the leadership of the president of the state cooperative, a small committee was formed between all the presidents of the cooperatives and the workers’ union, and after getting proposals according to the committee’s report, the union postponed its strike program to September 22.

Due to the non-fulfillment of the demands, the strike has been held for 3 days from today. If these demands are not met, an indefinite strike will be held from November 14, said the General Secretary of Brahmapur Center Co-operative Bank Employees’ Federation, Pabitr Mohan Palai. President Ranjit Kumar Tarai, Working President Sudshanshu Shekhar Bisoyi, General secretary Pabitra Mohan Palai, secretary Madhusmita Sahu, Rakesh Patnaik, treasure Ramakrishna Patra, Hemant Kumar Sahu, Ashish Sahu, Badri Narayan Das, Sarita Jayanthi Das, Suraj Nayak and many others in this concept The workers were involved.
