Cancer awareness program by Kranti on Children’s Day 

Berhampur, 15/11 (Abhijit Kar): On the occasion of Children’s Day, cultural and child cancer awareness program Red Rose Children’s Festival Mahasamaroh has been organized by Karanti Institute at Biju Patnaik Kult Bhawan in Hillipatna. The chief guest of Khallikot, Vice Chancellor on Col. Prof. Prafulla Kumar Mohanty inaugurated the event, Dr. Kanhu Charan Patra, Radiation Oncologist, Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Research Center, Visakhapatna, UIS Cancer Foundation and Charitable Trustee, Bhubaneswar were the guests of honour. Chairman Mr. Radhakrishna Das, SMIT President Dr. Bhagwan Gantayat, MKCG Medical College and Hospital senior Ophthalmologist Dr. Rajendra Prasad Behera and CMA Dharmendra Padhi were prominently present. On this occasion, the guests advised all the parents and students present to make children aware of childhood cancer with the aim of Children’s Day and advise the children not to eat junk food.

About seven hundred students of various competitions organized earlier were awarded with certificates by the guests. Later the audience was mesmerized by the “Chadheya” dance of Kranti Institute artiste Chinmayanand, while kids are performed a group dance by the artistes. Dr. Devanand Das, executive director of the institute and an oral cancer patient presided over the programme, while the Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Research Center extended its support. Among others are Debaraj Raut and Nirmala Das of Kranti Institute, Sanjay Kumar Rath, Saroj Kumar Sahu, Anil Kumar Sethi, Manas Ranjan Rath, D.Dilesh, Madhav Patra, Arun Patnaik, Snigdha Maharana, Kalyani Mohanty, Parmanand Panda, who have taken on the responsibility of the presenter. Ramachandra Sahu, Rajaram Padhi, Charchika Das and Chinmayananda Das and all other members contributed to the project management.
